With news items you easily show your latest news on your homepage, the waiting queue or in a mailing.
News items can be displayed in 4 different templates:
- On the homepage in a list (without pictures)
- On the homepage in the highlight grid, combined with highlighted events
- On the homepage in cards (with or without slideshow)
- On the waiting queue (in case of pre-sale and during maintenance)
Dashboard > Website > News
1) Homepage list > type Default
Create a news item and choose the news type “Default”. The date and time determine the period that the news will be displayed on the homepage. A list of news will be displayed next to the newsletter part (in the example below under the title "Meer nieuws"):
2) Homepage in the highlight grid > type Feature on home
When the "FeaturedFlexgrid Part" is activated for your website (in Routes and Parts), choose the news type “Featured on home”. These news items will be displayed in the highlight grid on the homepage, during the period as set up with the start and end date.
3) Homepage in cards > type Homepage
When the featured news (slideshow) part is activated for your website (in "Routes and Parts"), choose the news type “Homepage”. News items will be displayed in a separate part of the homepage in cards (with slideshow or on multiple rows with 3 cards per row).
Note: the slideshow can be activate or deactivate in the Routes and Part module.
Teaser: this text will be displayed under the picture and the title on the homepage.
Description: this will be displayed on the news page, which you can reach by clicking the button of the news item on the homepage.
Mailing description: if you want to use a different text for a mailing, you can enter it into this field. This will be automatically retrieved into your mailing template.
Show or Hide date: the date of the "Featured News" is automatically shown in the card on the homepage. If you prefer to hide the date, you can do this via Control Panel. Go to: Dashboard > System . Control Panel > Core
and switch the button 'news with date' for your preferences.

4) Waiting Queue > type notice in queue
It is possible to display news items to the people who are waiting in your queue. For example to explain what caused the large amount of visitors, or to communicate about some events that are already sold-out during a peak sale. When you use a news item for your queue write your text in the description part (the teaser is not working in the queue).
Choose news type “queue” or “queue with date”
The date and time determine the period that the news will be visible in the queue. News for the queue is not displayed elsewhere on the site. If you choose queue with date, the date is shown as the date on which the message was placed.
Create a news item but publish it later
It is possible to create a news item and publish it later. To do this, give the message a date in the future. The message will automatically be shown on your website on the particular date.
