Donations as a product

The best way to accept donations on your website is to use an article or product in your ticketing sytem.

See our products knowledgebase article to find out how to set that up, and if product sales is supported through uor API with your ticketing software.

If the above is not an option, there is a different solution:

Donations based on an event

This 'Donations' module can be shown during the booking process: after the seat/price selection and before the checkout.

The module works thanks to a separate event which can be booked as a donation.
This donation event must have a valid box-office code so that the corresponding prices can be retrieved in Peppered. It is advisable to place this event far in the future and to connect it to a hall with (very) high capacity (without seat selection), in order to prevent it from getting sold out in the ticketing system. The different prices that are attached to the event are shown in the donation card without their price name.

Note: Using multiple events as a donation in the module is not possible.

How to create a donation?

  1. First create a production and call it "donation" in order to find it back easily if needed.
  2. Create an event with a date in the future (in a season open for sale) and link it to the "donation" production.
  3. Enter the box-office code of the event.
  4. Use the "update prices" button to get the prices from the ticketing system within the event page in the dashboard.
  5. Check whether prices are shown correctly, and see if the visibility of these prices is on "always" (not on "conditional"). You can change this in the "Price Types" module.
  6. Check the property box "this is a donation" for the event. By doing so, this event is automatically filtered out of all overviews, search results and the order history.
