We have made some adjustments to the Cookie banner to comply with the new DMA and DSA laws of the European Commission. These laws establish, among other things, that website visitors must be able to refuse (some) cookies just as easily as they can accept them all.

We have therefore adjusted the standard cookie banner in such a way that all options are equally easy to choose. The three options 'decline', 'limited' and 'agree' are still the same, but can be more easily navigated and selected with this new design.

Do you want to know more about these new legislations? Check the website of the European Commission for more information about the DSA and DMA. Know that we make sure to comply with them - so you don't have to.

Template texts

The long text with an explanation and link to your privacy statement is still used (FE3_cookies_explanation

For all the other areas, new texts have been created;

  • FE3_cookies_intro
  • FE3_cookies_explanation
  • FE3_cookies_button_reject
    (This will only accept functional cookies)
  • FE3_cookies_button_limited
    (This will accept functional cookies and some third party cookies, like Youtube players)
  • FE3_cookies_button_all
    (This will accept all cookies)

  • FE3_cookies_intro_inline is a special case that is shown as an overlay over third party (social) media embeds when the "limited" or "all" consent was not yet given:

Note: When you are using Google Tag Manager make sure all your tags are set up accordingly to the different levels of agreement (limited or all cookies).

A website option for changing your cookie settings

If you want to place a link for visitors to reset the cookiebanner, place a link in one of your footer template texts, and use this as the link:

<a href="javascript:(function(){document.cookie='cookie_consent=;domain='+window.location.hostname.replace('www', '')+';path=/;';window.location.reload()}())">Reset cookies</a>

Please mind that this reset link only works for cookies set after release 190. All older cookies were in a different location, and will not be reset. This could potentially result in a cookiebanner that cannot be closed after the reset. The only thing you can do is then delete cookies in your browser.

In Edge, select Settings and more  > Settings  > Cookies and site permissions.

Under Cookies and data stored, select Manage and delete cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data and search for the site whose cookies you want to delete.

Select the down arrow  to the right of the site whose cookies you want to delete and select Delete

In Crome, just click on the icon before the website url, and select "Cookies and site data" > "Manage on-device and site data" and delete all site cookies.
